History of the Marguerite ring
The Marguerite ring, also known as the Pompadour ring, takes its name from the first woman to wear it. The Marquise de Pompadour, favorite of King Louis XV.

Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson met King Louis XV on February 25, 1745 at a masked ball held in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. He installed her in the Palace of Versailles on September 10, 1745 and gave her the Pompadour estate in the summer of the same year. This made her the Marquise de Pompadour.

Louis XV had the Petit Trianon built for him, Marie Antoinette’s favorite stay thereafter, a true haven of peace with its botanical garden.
